As I say in my bio, when I'm not writing, I enjoy sipping scotch while watching the twisted humor of Drunk History. Seeing our past through the bottom of a whisky glass is more entertaining than reading a dusty textbook. And it is so true.
Now more than ever, comedy and laughter are absolutely what we need.
If you've never seen Drunk History on Comedy Central, you are missing out. It's people who have had a bit too much to drink, retelling unusual events from history and the scenes are recreated with actors. You just have to watch to truly appreciate it.
This one stars Colin Hanks and is about Lawnchair Larry, a guy who takes a 15,000-foot-high flight into the sky on a lawn chair attached to 45 helium-filled weather balloons. Crazy stuff! And then to have it told by a drunk guy? Classic.
Have you seen Drunk History before? If so, what is your favorite episode?
